Will callers know they are talking to AI?
Yes. It says it is an automated assistant at the start of every call and tells callers the call is recorded, as California requires.
Do I have to change my phone number?
No. You keep your number. We set your phone to forward calls only when you do not pick up.
Can my phone ring first, and only go to the assistant if I do not answer?
Yes. Your phone and up to three teammates can ring at the same time, and the first person to answer takes the call. If nobody picks up, the assistant answers. Each phone has its own hours, so you can ring your cell Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, and let the assistant take nights and weekends. Outside a phone's hours it does not ring at all.
How long does my phone ring before the assistant answers?
We set it to 10 seconds. Your mobile voicemail counts as an answer, so a longer ring can send the caller to your voicemail instead of the assistant. 10 seconds keeps the assistant in front of the voicemail.
Can I ring my phone first if the business number is my cell?
Usually not. Ringing your phones first means forwarding all calls from your business number to the assistant, and a cell that forwards to the assistant cannot also be one of the phones that rings. It works well with an office line, a business landline or a separate business number. If your business number is your own cell, we keep the standard setup where the assistant only picks up what you miss. Ringing phones show a different number than the caller's, but every call page shows who actually called.
Can I see my calls and listen to the recordings?
Yes. Every call shows up on a private page you sign in to with an emailed link, with the summary, the transcript and the recording. There is no password. The page is read only, and recordings and transcripts are kept for 12 months.
Can my receptionist or office manager see the calls too?
Yes. You add them by email on the same page and you can remove them any time. You are responsible for who you add, so give access only to people on your team who need it.
Does it answer in Spanish?
Yes. Callers can speak English or Spanish.
What does it tell people about my prices?
Only what you approve. It shares the prices, hours and services you give us, and takes a message for everything else.
What happens after the 30 days?
If you keep it, you pick a plan: $149/month for up to 60 conversations, or $99/month for up to 30. Both have a one-time $99 setup. Not sure which fits? We look at your real call count at day 30 and recommend one. If you do not keep it, we turn forwarding off and you owe nothing.
What counts as a conversation?
A call where a real person talked with the assistant and it took their name, what they needed, or a message that needs a follow-up. Spam, robocalls, wrong numbers, and hang-ups with no message are free. If the same number calls back within 24 hours, that counts once. If a call was counted that should not have been, tap "This shouldn't count" on the call page and we will review it.
What if I get more than 60 conversations in a month?
The assistant keeps answering. Nothing gets cut off. Extra conversations are $1.50 each on the $149 plan and $2.00 each on the $99 plan. Spam, wrong numbers, and hang-ups are free. We email you at 80% so there are no surprises.
